Meet the Crew - Yoshi Mei
Animatronic Engineer
Meet Henry Emily’s Righthand Man!
My name is Yoshi Mei, a 23 year old engineer working as a designer for one of the world’s largest toy brands. In college, I discovered my passion for animatronics through a friend introducing me to the animatronic bands of the 1980s. I was amazed at their ability to capture so much expressiveness out of what was essentially a machine. I have been teaching myself how to design and build them ever since.
Creating the Fazbear Four:
If it’s mechanical, it’s me!
I am responsible for aspects of the series that specifically deal with how the characters move and operate.
On this team, I design true-to-life mechanisms for each character. A fun challenge is developing creative solutions to make key plot points within the story physically possible— or at least plausible. For example, it is a well-known fact that the FNAF animatronics can walk, so it is my job to create a believable solution to how that can be.
While the story contains many fictional elements, treating the characters like actual animatronic figures adds that extra layer of authenticity.
And who knows, The Fazbear Four might not be exclusive to onscreen performances.
